Background

Rising out of a small victorian village nestled away in the Adirondack Mountains of Northern New York supplied a wonderful environment to explore the outdoors. Growing up, I always stood mesmerized at the massive low pressure systems and incredible ice storms driven down from the arctic lake effect, encapsulating entire cities; only to capture a sense of peacefulness, sealed within the stillness that the crystalline ice structure. Childhood memories include snow castles, sledding the local hill, nordic skiing for school, snowmobiling town to town along with my very first step into the ski industry at the local ski area. This snowy town has Influenced my future and long lived passion in my endeavor through life of becoming a respected and reliable snow industry professional.

Reflection

Over the past decade my passion for community outreach involving teaching and coaching has grown immensely. Recognizing the need to excel and expand my qualifications alongside my experience has lead me take great pride in enrolling in the Avalanche Science Program at Colorado Mountain College - Leadville, CO. Utilizing these standardized approaches and procedures in my daily operations as a coach, teacher, instructor and peer will be a newly established skillset that I will strive to implement into the core of my growing professional career.
